Information for Prospective Candidates
Candidate Information
The Annual School Budget Vote and Election will take place on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
To elect three (3) members to the Board of Education as follows:
Three (3) members to the Board of Education for three-year terms (commencing July 1, 2025 and expiring June 30, 2028; and
Residents of the City of Beacon interested in running for a seat on the Board can obtain a School Board Candidate packet by calling Vickie Jackson, District Clerk, (845) 838-6900 ext. 2010 or via email at jackson.v@beaconk12.org. The packet can then be picked up in person or it can be mailed to the candidate.
Candidates for the Board of Education shall be nominated by a petition directed to the District Clerk.
A qualified voter is a person who is a citizen of the United States, at least 18 years of age, and a resident of the school district for at least 30 days prior to the date of the Budget Vote. A qualified voter is not required to be a registered voter.
Petitions must state the residence of each signer, and the name and residence of each candidate.

The deadline for submitting School Board Nominating Petitions to the District Clerk is Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at 5:00 P.M.
