Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - Students of the Year Campaign
Students of the Year campaign is for high school students who are interested in and enthusiastic about volunteerism, philanthropy, community outreach, and leadership.
A seven-week fundraising competition, to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), students will work with LLS staff to set a fundraising goal and develop an action plan to reach it. The top fundraising candidate, co-candidates, or tri-candidates, earns the title of “Student(s) of the Year” as well as a $1,500 scholarship.
This past year, Students of the Year in Upstate New York/Vermont, had 14 local high school students raise an astounding $211,000 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society mission: to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
For 2021, there are currently 6 students signed on, and there’s room for more!
The campaign will launch on January 21, 2021, and ends with the Grand Finale on March 11, 2021 (Date tentative; may be held between March 10 and 15 (dates inclusive)).
We hope you consider getting involved with Students of the Year or sharing this opportunity with someone who may be interested!
We look forward to hearing from you,

MAYA GOLD FOUNDATION
We are writing on behalf of The Maya Gold Foundation to inform you of an exciting opportunity for high school students in the Hudson Valley.
The mission of the Maya Gold Foundation is to empower youth to access their inner wisdom and realize their dreams.
Maya Gold was a social activist and committed to helping others in many ways. This award is designed for Hudson Valley freshman, sophomores, and juniors who are committed to participate in a community service project or service initiative in the Hudson Valley or in Nepal.
Our goal is to support two high school students in realizing this commitment with a $500.00 award per student.
Examples of previous awards include the following initiatives: Book Donation Project, Girls on the Run, musical programs for children with unique needs, and funding for Family of New Paltz and Wild Earth.
“I am so excited to start donating books again, once it is safe to do so. This grant has given us the opportunity to expand our outreach and get books to even more hospitals and children’s centers. The work that the Maya Gold Foundation does to support youth looking to improve their communities is inspiring and I’m so grateful to be a recipient of this grant and thus a contributor to the Maya Gold Foundation’s mission,” - Sophia Roberts, Book Donation Project.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis with deadlines of December 15 and June 15. To apply, the student must complete the online application form. Up to two awards will be given each year to qualifying individuals, with awards announced on January 15 and July 15.
