Letter to Parents 8th Grade Moving Up Ceremony June 25th
April 10, 2019
Dear 8th Grade Parents/Guardians and Students,
The end of the school year is fast approaching, and so is the 8th Grade Moving Up Ceremony. The event is being held on Tuesday evening, June 25th at 6 p.m. in the Theater of Beacon High School.
As stated in the RMS Student Manual, "The moving up ceremony held at the end of the school year is a celebration of hard work and achievement. It is because of this that only eighth grade students who have successfully completed all academic requirements may participate. Eighth grade students who have failed three or more subjects for the school year will not be allowed to participate in the eighth grade moving up ceremony" (16).
On Thursday, June 13th, students will receive three (3) tickets each, affixed to a ticket memo. Students participating in the ceremony do not need tickets; therefore, the tickets are for parental use.
Parents who need additional tickets must complete the extra ticket request form at the bottom of the ticket memo that will be distributed on June 13th. Have your student return the completed request to Ms. Lyon (room D136) by Monday, June 17th. The extra ticket lottery will be managed by Mr. Soltish, RMS Principal. Extra tickets will be distributed to the students of the lottery winners on Tuesday, June 18th.
We look forward to celebrating the moving up of our 8th graders to Beacon High School, class of 2023. Regards,
