Dear Sargent Families,
Our first week of school was a hot one but we really have enjoyed seeing each other and adjusting to new routines and building our foundation for strong classroom communities. The purpose of this letter is to make families aware of the ways in which the main office communicates upcoming events, building happenings and important information.
The “Sargent Sunday Scoop” is an e-newsletter that gets delivered via email to families every other week. These newsletters can also be accessed, and referred to at any time, via the Sargent Elementary School website (https://www.beaconk12.org/domain/615). Check your inboxes this Sunday morning (September 10th) for the latest edition!
Although we try to keep hard copy paper to a minimum, some information lends itself better to letters/flyers. Please make it a habit to check your student’s home/school communication folders (purple) and/or their backpack for these types of hard copy informational materials. For your convenience, when many flyers are sent home at once, the main office typically follows up with an email linking electronic copies, too.
Classroom teachers will choose the home/school communication modality that works best for them. Some commonly used platforms are Class Dojo, Remind, Bloomz, Google Classroom, and weekly email updates/class newsletters. If you are unsure of the method in which your student’s teacher uses, please email them directly.

The day cycle schedule is always updated and maintained on the Sargent Website. In the coming weeks, we will also begin to post our AM News youtube shows that get produced by students daily! Since a lot of the home/school communication is electronic, it is important that families have active Parent Portal accounts and take the time each year to complete the Returning Student Registration form to ensure we have up to date phone numbers, emails and mailing addresses. Follow these steps to complete the Returning Student Registration form for the 23-24 School Year.

Click on the icon for the Returning Student Registration and complete the form. One form needs to be completed for each student. (RSR is not supported in the Parent Portal app and must be completed by logging into the PowerSchool Parent Portal using a web browser, such as Chrome, Edge or Firefox.
