Welcome to the Beacon City School District Office of Pupil Services. We work consistently, throughout the year, to improve the quality of service to our students. Special Education provides specially designed services and programs for children with various disabilities, designed to meet each student’s individual needs, while enhancing the student’s strengths.
Students and caregivers become aware of disabilities in varying ways. While some are identified when the child is very young, or even at birth, others are not identified until later in the student’s school career when the child begins to struggle with learning in the general education curriculum, despite interventions. Special Education programs and services are designed to ensure that children with disabilities receive appropriate and equal opportunities for educational growth and success and are provided at no cost to parents or guardians. This site is designed to help anyone who visits access information and resources relating to service to students with disabilities in the Beacon City School District.
