Welcome to Pupil Personnel Services

  • Welcome to the Beacon City School District Office of Pupil Services. We work consistently, throughout the year, to improve the quality of service to our students. Special Education provides specially designed services and programs for children with various disabilities, designed to meet each student’s individual needs, while enhancing the student’s strengths.

Students and parents become aware of disabilities in varying ways. While some are identified when the child is very young, or even at birth, others are not identified until later in the student’s school career when the child begins to struggle with learning in the general education curriculum, despite interventions. Special Education programs and services are designed to ensure that children with disabilities receive appropriate and equal opportunities for educational growth and success and are provided at no cost to parents or guardians. This site is designed to help anyone who visits access information and resources relating to service to students with disabilities in the Beacon City School District.

  • FOR ALL CPSE, 504, SUB-CSE AND CSE MEETINGS DURING WINTER

In the event of inclement weather, please note the following:

    • The following information is based on the Superintendent's message for the winter of 2020-2021

School Closed/Remote Learning Days will be utilized on days that I would have typically called a two-hour delay in the past. On those days, students will adhere to a remote learning schedule that will be shared by the school. In this event, your child's meeting will be held as scheduled.

School Closed/No Remote Learning will be utilized on days of a significant storm where there is the potential of either power outages which would hamper remote learning or the fact that everyone would be digging out, sledding, building snow forts etc. and not show up for remote learning. In this event, your child's meeting will need to be rescheduled.
