• The School Budget Vote and Election will take place on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.  Polls will be open at 6:00am and will close at 9:00pm. 

    Voters who reside within the city limits of the City of Beacon vote at Beacon High School. 

    Voters who reside outside the city limits of the City of Beacon, and within the boundaries of the Town of Fishkill, or the Town of Wappinger, (that are part of the Beacon City School District), vote at Glenham Elementary School.  These boundaries may not match the voter's mailing address.  For questions regarding voting location, please call the District Clerk at 845-838-6900 ext. 2010.

    Notice of Public Hearing 2024

    Candidates and terms:

    To elect three (3) members to the Board of Education as follows: 

    Two (2) members to the Board of Education for three-year terms commencing July 1, 2024 and ending June 30, 2027; and 

    One (1) member to the Board of Education for a remainder term commencing May 22, 2024 and ending June 30, 2024 plus a three-year term commencing July 1, 2024 and ending June 30, 2027

    Order of the Ballot  to be determined on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 9:00 a.m.

    Proposition 1:  2024-2025 School Budget  Shall the budget for the Beacon City School District for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 2024, in the amount of $83,855,000 be adopted, and the necessary taxes to meet such expenditures be levied and collected?

    Proposition 2:  EV Bus Purchase  hall the bond resolution authorizing the purchase of two zero-emission school buses at a maximum cost of $990,000 ($495,000 per bus), but only if the District receives subsidies of at least $400,000 ($200,000 per bus); authorizing the issuance of up to $990,000 bonds (5 year maximum maturity) and, with respect to such bonds, providing for a tax levy therefor in annual installments; pledging the District's faith and credit for debt service; delegating powers with respect to bonds and notes; and providing for an estoppel procedure, be approved?

    Proposition 3:  School Bus Purchase  Shall the bond resolution authorizing the purchase of school buses at a maximum cost of $485,000; authorizing the issuance of up to $485,000 bonds (5 year maximum maturity) and, with respect to such bonds, providing for a tax levy therefor in annual installments; pledging the District's faith and credit for debt service; delegating powers with respect to bonds and notes; and providing for an estoppel procedure, be approved?

    Proposition 4:  Capital Project  Shall the bond resolution authorizing a School District Improvement Program at a maximum cost of $49,950,000; authorizing the use of $500,000 capital reserve funds, the issuance of up to $49,450,000 bonds (30 year maximum maturity) and, with respect to such bonds, providing for a tax levy therefor in annual installments; pledging the District's faith and credit for debt service; delegating powers with respect to bonds and notes; and providing for an estoppel procedure, be approved?
