PRE-KINDERGARTEN
Pre-Kindergarten
Children are eligible for the Pre-Kindergarten program if their parent/guardian resides in the Beacon City School District and they will turn 4 years of age on or before December 1st.
Funding
The Pre-Kindergarten Program in the Beacon City School District is a full-day program that is offered at all four of our district elementary schools. This program is only partially funded by New York State. The remainder of the cost is funded by the Beacon City School District. Since there is only a limited number of Pre-Kindergarten slots available, we will be conducting a lottery. Online registration for Pre-Kindergarten will begin on Monday, March 11, 2024 and will close on April 10th, 2024. Parents will be notified the week of April 15th if their child is chosen for the lottery. If you register after April 15th, your child will be placed on a wait list.
School Building Assignment
School assignments are determined by parent/guardian residency. We will do our best to place students in their home school. If your child’s home school is at capacity, then the next closest school with an available opening will be offered for placement. There are also a limited number of spots at our cooperating agencies. The registrar will have more information about our community-based options in the near future.
Transportation
The district provides transportation for arrival and dismissal. The link for the transportation request is below.
Breakfast and Lunch
Your child is eligible for free breakfast and lunch through the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program.
