The Annual School Budget Vote and Election will take place on Tuesday, May 21, 2019. There are three seats on the Board of Education with terms expiring on June 30, 2022. Citizens interested in running for a seat on the board may obtain information packets and petition forms from the District Clerk at 10 Education Drive, Beacon. Please call to make an appointment to have a packet created: (845) 838-6900 ext. 2032 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Candidates for the Board of Education shall be nominated by a petition directed to the District Clerk which is signed by at least one hundred (100) qualified voters of the District. A qualified voter is a person who is a citizen of the United States, at least 18 years of age, and a resident of the school district for at least 30 days prior to the date of the Budget Vote. A qualified voter does not need to be a registered voter.
Petitions must state the residence of each signer, and the name and residence of each candidate. The deadline for submitting petitions is Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 5:00 P.M.
