Beacon City School District Universal Pre-Kindergarten

  • PRE-KINDERGARTEN

    Funding

The Beacon Pre-Kindergarten Program is a  FULL day grant funded program and is offered at our district elementary schools.  Please understand that the program will only operate if the Beacon School District continues to receive Pre-Kindergarten grant funding from New York State.  Notification letters to families confirming student attendance are mailed out at the end of July pending final funding approval from the state.

    Building Assignment

School assignments are determined by parent/guardian residency. We will do our best to place Pre-K students in their home school.  If your child’s home school is at capacity, then the next closest school with an available opening will be offered for placement.  There are also a limited number of spots at our cooperating agencies.  The registrar will have more information about our community-based options in the near future.

    Tranportation

The district provides transportation for arrival and dismissal. The link for transportation requests is below.

    Lunch

Students are provided a healthy snack each day during their FULL day program.  The Beacon City School District is an active partner in the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program and Pre-K students are eligible as follows:

    Breakfast and Lunch

Your child MAY be eligible for free reduced lunch prices.  A paper application will be issued on the first day of school.  After registration, your child will be assigned a student ID. Families can also apply for free/reduced lunch online at the following link:  http://beaconcityschools.heartlandapps.com
