Winter Weather Reminders

The weather on Friday reminded me it was time for some winter weather reminders.  We will do our best to make any weather-related delay or closing decision by 5:00 am and we will communicate it through our messaging system shortly after that.  Sometimes decisions are based on a forecast, and sometimes decisions are based on road conditions, either way, we are monitoring the situation very early in the morning to see if our buses can travel safely starting at 6:00 am.   If you have any questions, please let me know.

 Playground Updates

As many of you know, we have two playground upgrades as part of our capital project work (Capital Project 2021). The two new playground pieces at South Avenue Elementary have been open for over a week.  The new playground equipment on the upper playground at Forrestal Elementary is open as well.  The new equipment at Forrestal on the lower playground is not quite done and will be inspected when we return from Thanksgiving break and then open for all to use.  We will replace or get new playground equipment for other schools in future years with our latest capital project (Capital Project 2024) as well.  If you are in Beacon for Thanksgiving, you may want to burn off some of that pumpkin pie on the playground equipment pictured below at South Avenue Elementary!
